anybody tried a microwave for this. other than the huge amount of koh used, any drawbacks or problems for this method. i UTFSE, but came up with zero results strangely, are there any writeups other than rhodiums. This method sounds so quick with great yields. |

Nothing in TFSE? A simple search for "isomerization microwave" gave among other things the following excellent threads: Post 291995 (foxy2: "Safrole Isomerization in microwave", Chemistry Discourse) Post 108400 (dormouse: "Microwave Isomerization of Safrole - Cherrie Baby", Novel Discourse) Post 162640 (jimwig: "microwaves for honey", Methods Discourse) (09-09-03): Edit: New addition to my page: Isomerization Of Safrole And Eugenol Under Microwave Irradiation G.
