nicotine and demerol | |||||||
i couldn´t help noticing the structural similarity between nicotine and demerol. in morphing the compounds are like three steps apart (i don´t mean to imply these compounds can be transmuted one to the other). i was wondering if the intermediate compounds might have any activity and what might the legal status of such compounds be? |

While you certainly can find a remote structural similarity between the two molecules, they are very different from the perspective of a medicinal chemist. They should definitely fall outside the "substantially similar" definition from a purely chemical perspective. The Hive - Clandestine Chemists Without Borders |
