piperazine as a diamine in birchbear reductions | |||||||
at any walfart, you can buy dog wormer for $3 that contains 6gm of piperazine citrate. according to the patenet, piperzine freebase with anhydrous IPA will dissolve lithium. IPA is also OTC, as HEET, in the automotive department. piperazine is quite a bit differnt from EDA - i think the separation would be easier. where can i find solubility data for piperazine vs that of meth? actually, freezing out might really work with this. some point - drying amines with NaOH - how safe is this? CaO is also OTC, would that be better? i'm think CaO in anhydrous IPA would be best - the IPA is the cosolvent anyway. the fact that the melting point of piperazine is 106C might be somewhat of a problem ... any thought? will this just not boil off the IPA? thanks for the input "Decay is inherent in all compounded things. Strive unceasingly." |
